The Department of Political Science/Criminal Justice invites applications in the area of Criminal Justice and Criminology for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in August 2008. This position would teach in both the undergraduate Criminal Justice program and the MS in Criminal Justice and Criminology program. This is a new position based on program growth. At the time of appointment, the successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in criminal justice, criminology or closely related discipline. The J.D. degree is not considered as an appropriate terminal degree for this position. Area of specialization is open. The ability to teach introductory level courses in Criminal Justice is expected, as is off-campus instruction. Instructional duties will include student advisement and curriculum development. In addition to instructional duties, faculty members are expected to maintain an active program of scholarship as well as participate in service activities.
