The Department of Political Science/Criminal Justice invites applications in the area of criminal justice and judicial process for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in August 2008. This position serves undergraduate and graduate programs in criminal justice and criminology, political science, and public administration - and supports the Political Science Pre-Professional Legal Studies program. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in criminal justice, criminology, political science, or closely related field. The JD degree is not considered an appropriate terminal degree for this position. The successful candidate should be able to teach in the area of courts, constitutional law, and judicial behavior. Some off campus instruction is expected. Instructional duties will include student advisement and curriculum development. In addition to instructional duties, faculty members are expected to maintain an active program of scholarship as well as participate in service activities.
