Description of duties, responsibilities and qualifications:
The Department of History at Appalachian State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Public History, beginning August 2008. Specialization open. Ability to teach World Civilization and courses in area of specialization required. A Ph.D. in History, teaching experience, and evidence of scholarly potential expected. Instructional duties will include student advisement and curriculum development. In addition to instructional duties, faculty members are expected to maintain an active program of scholarship as well as participate in service activities.
Appalachian State University is a member institution of the sixteen-campus University of North Carolina System.
