Position Title: Assistant Professor

The Department of Sociology and Social Work invites applications for a tenure-track nine-month faculty position in sociology at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2008. Candidates who are ABD will be considered, but the position requires completion of all doctoral requirements in sociology by September 15, 2008. The successful applicant must be able to teach sociological theory. Further preference will be given to applicants who also have specializations in sociology of the family and/or criminology. Instructional duties may include student advisement, curriculum development, and on-line instruction and/or instruction at off-campus sites. Faculty members are expected to maintain an active program of scholarship, seek extramural funding, and participate in service activities.
